American Estates: J. Alan Sandblasted Bent Billiard with Horn (1679) (2020) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-16357

Jeff Gracik of J. Alan pipes is one of America's premier artisans and has developed a style all his own, often taking inspiration from the Danish design school as seen with this bent Billiard. An upright bowl tapers slightly as it moves from a gestural heel to a softly inflated rim, and the shank is stouter and more gradual than an English pipe chart would suggest. The shank curves slightly downward before rising and tapering toward an accent of black and white horn. The stem is one of Jeff's fine, hand-cut vulcanite push-style saddle mouthpieces, flaring to an expansion ring at the shank junction and slightly bent for a comfortable posture. As I expect from Gracik, the grain is stunning, with undulations of ring grain climbing the bowl's sides, while the shank displays a more low-profile blast. The rim is left smooth and the stummel is dressed in contrasting auburn tones for a lively aesthetic. I don't know who could resist smoking this pipe but it somehow remains in unsmoked condition.
