American Estates: Michael Frey Smooth Bent Brandy with Mammoth (1987) (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-009-16719

A student of Michael Butera, Michael Frey valued quality over quantity — only having released a select number of pipes before he retired; thus, we don't see his pieces all that often. On the rare occasion one does come through our doors, Frey's appreciation of quality is readily evident. Such is the case with this chubby bent Brandy, featuring a palm-filing bowl with thick, insulating walls. After an effortless transition, the shank rises to the elegantly bent mouthpiece, giving this piece the ability to hang from the jaw with ease. An accent of pale mammoth graces the shank end, providing a nice visual separation and contrast. Considering Frey is said to have retired from pipe making, there's no telling when one of his pipes may pop up again, making this a prime opportunity to pick up one of his pieces in unsmoked condition.
