American Estates: Trey Rice Sandblasted Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-16863
Trey Rice is a pipe maker in Texas, and, while I haven't gotten the chance to examine very many of his pipes yet, I have to say I like this one. A crisp bent Dublin interpretation, it pairs a flaring bowl crowned with craggy plateau to an underslung, paneled shank for a in interesting juxtaposition of angular structure and flowing linework. A stunning contrast stain dresses a sandblasted finish, the two elements working on concert to bring out some really nice ring grain climbing the bowl. A lighter accent graces the stem base for contrast, setting the stage perfectly for a lithe downturned vulcanite saddle mouthpiece. I honestly would like to add this one to my personal collection, and think it a great find at this price.
