American Estates: J.M. Boswell Jumbo Smooth Bent Brandy (2014)

Product Number: 004-009-16983

Though leaning slightly more into classic shaping compared to Boswell's more wild Freehands, this bent Brandy's size is anything but traditional — having been lent the carver's Jumbo designation. Such a piece is an ideal choice for those interested in a palm-filling house pipe of immense chamber depth and hearty substance. The bowl's flanks have additionally been flattened, allowing for easy indexing in the hand, and the slight spurred section beneath the transition adds a touch of structure. The thick shank is actually larger than the swirling brown stem's base, one that actually tapers very slightly near the tenon in order to foster a stepped kind of look. There's plenty of gorgeous grain to be admired around the massive bowl, highlighted by a warm mahogany stain, with lovely, windswept flame grain swirling around the bowl on nearly every side..
