American Estates: Micah Redmond Sandblasted Tomato Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-17715

Micah Redmond's signature Tomato shape is defined by an active, forward-driving stance, a broad, squat bowl, and a strikingly stout transition. Those shaping cues remain mostly in tact in this particular rendition, save for the transition, which here is slightly softened and far less severe than is normal for the American carver. The subdued transition works to give the bowl a sense of independence within the composition and allows for the dynamic momentum of the design to take center stage. The bowl rises from a slightly lifted heel and comes to a subtly pronounced point at its fore, while the shank lifts gently upward toward a cumberland mouthpiece out back. It's presented in a crisp, jet-black sandblast that draws out radiating waves of growth rings across the flanks of the bowl and provides a stimulating texture for the fingers to explore.
