American Estates: Walt Cannoy Suedeblast Bent Brandy with Bamboo (6) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-18198
Walt Cannoy's shaping aesthetic ranges from more traditional, yet individualized takes on the classics to wildly eclectic Freehands. This bent Brandy embodies the former, with the curvaceous, broad-based bowl displaying the classic form's gradual taper to the chamfered rim. An abbreviated shank is integrated by three knuckles of pale bamboo, lending a naturalistic aesthetic, with the short, downturned stem featuring an expansion disc that continues the trajectory established by the bamboo. The stummel is indicative of the American artisan's unique micro-textural "suede" finish, achieved by using an ultra-fine medium to remove only a tiny amount of the soft wood from the surface and is stained jet-black, with the smooth rim lending contrast.
