A smoother rendition of the often ridge-laden Bulldog, this piece from veteran carver J.M. Boswell is a fine example of the versatile style that has made Boswell one of America's most popular artisans. The smooth bowl displays a soft taper around the rim, paired to a balanced diamond shank fitted to a slightly bent vulcanite saddle stem. The stummel is dressed in a warm chestnut stain decorated with an intricate spot carved rustication on the rear of the bowl, offering plenty of tactile and visual appeal.
