American Estates: J.M. Boswell Smooth Fluted Oom Paul (2004) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-34005

Compared to a good bit of his other work, this Oom Paul is actually quite the reserved piece from J.M. Boswell size-wise, coming in at just over five inches long. Much of this is owed to the tightly knit shank and transition, poising the stem for easy jaw hanging and compressing the length of the muscular shank by sending it skyward. The bowl here is rather tall and holds a capacious chamber within its walls, with these walls possessed of some lovely texture courtesy of Boswell's fluted carvings on either flank. Dressed in a light mahogany stain, this piece displays some handsome grain throughout the stummel, with birdseye prevalent at the left flank.
