American Estates: Rolando Negoita Sandblasted Cherrywood (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-18828

While Rolando Negoita was originally from Transylvania, he migrated to the United States after completing his studies at the Romanian Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest. He unfortunately passed in 2021, but he left behind an extensive portfolio of unique and highly creative designs. He was an artisan interested in pushing the boundaries of pipes making, and he drew inspiration from a broad range of influences, including the natural world, the art of ancient Greece, and even Bauhaus architecture.

This Cherrywood is a fine example of Negoita's unique style, featuring a Barrel-like bowl that tapers at both ends as well as an angled heel that allows the pipe to sit with a playful forward cant. Out back an especially sleek and sinuous shank-and-stem arrangement creates a handsome S curve, promoting an effortless clenching posture. Dressed in an inky black sandblast, the stummel boasts excellent ring grain, pairing nicely with the black vulcanite stem to create a wealth of tactile and visual interest.
