American Estates: Scott Thile Sandblasted Bent Bulldog (OP2) (31D) (2014) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-18943

Scott Thile, a very accomplished musician, has brought his crisp syncopation to briar with this remarkable, sandblasted bent Bulldog. Sharp ridgelines dominate the line of the silhouette in a natural and subtle bend of shank and stem. The blast itself is medium-deep and grips the finger pads when held. The beadlines are high, bringing the taper of the bowl above to a dome-like attitude. A cumberland stem continues the shank's natural taper our back, turning gracefully downward at the lip button. Influenced by such notable pipe makers as Adam Davidson, Jeff Gracik, Todd Johnson, and Bruce Weaver, Scott advanced quickly with his pipe-making skills and has become one of America's most esteemed carvers. Pieces like this bent Bulldog reveal the artist behind it.
