A profoundly robust piece from American carver J.M. Boswell, this Brandy measures in at more than six and a half inches long and weighs over a quarter of a pound, living up to its Jumbo designation. The bowl here is equally hearty, at two inches in breadth and nearly two and a half inches tall, its walls sitting atop a firm heel and tapering up to a rearward-slanting rim. A wide transition marks the start of a similarly tapering shank, whose diminution continues through the base of the shimmering ruby-acrylic stem. The vibrant hues of this stem provide ample color contrast against the warm stain of the stummel, while a partial, spot-like rustication covering the rim and underside adds a richly contrasting texture.
