American Estates: American Smoking Pipe Company Sandblasted Calabash (Regd. No.) (3-88/CR) (7) (Curt Rollar) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-19241
The American Smoking Pipe Company was a collaborative project between Mark Tinsky and Curt Rollar, born out of their longtime friendship, their interest in pipes, and a bicycle trip the pair went on across Europe, which is when they hatched the idea. Tinsky and Rollar both crafted pipes under the ASPC name, with the intended purpose of offering high-quality, artisan-made pieces at an accessible price point. Crafted by Curt Rollar, this Calabash showcases the craftsmanship that marked a great deal of ASPC's creative output. It's a muscular interpretation of the shape-chart standard, presenting a tall, deep-chambered bowl with a domed, overhanging rim. Said bowl is paired to a comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement that strikes a subtle S-curve and encourages a comfortable smoking posture. It's all dressed in an earthy sandblast that brings vivid definition to the briar's natural grain.
