American Estates: Rolando Negoita Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Conducta Poker (2015) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-19627

While Rolando Negoita was originally from Transylvania, he migrated to the United States after completing his studies at the Romanian Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest. He unfortunately passed in 2021, but he left behind an extensive portfolio of unique and highly creative designs. He was an artisan interested in pushing the boundaries of pipes making, and he drew inspiration from a broad range of influences, including the natural world, the art of ancient Greece, and even Bauhaus architecture.

This reverse Calabash Poker is a testament to Negoita's visionary style. Composed in the Conducta fashion, with a tall bowl intersected by a robust shank and moisture chamber, this type of reverse Calabash is all the invention of Negoita, later adopted by many other carvers. Dressed in a crisp black sandblast, the stummel boasts fine ring grain, contrasted by the smooth rim and shank end.
