American Estates: Steve Liskey Smooth Freehand with Horn (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-39116
Steve Liskey learned the ins-and-outs of pipe making from Jeff Gracik and Todd Johnson, and he primarily draws on the Japanese and Danish schools of pipe making for inspiration. However, his unique incorporation of accenting materials and organic shaping cues result in Liskey's one-of-a-kind aesthetic. This Freehand by Steve Liskey possesses a flared bowl with a convex rim, framing gorgeous swirls of birdseye while imbuing this piece with a playful flourish. Furthermore, the inner rim is chamfered inward to the bowl, making for easy tobacco packing. Moving rearward, the bowl tapers to a seamless transition that flows into a cylindrical shank, creating a gestural profile that recalls the Danish tradition. The shank end features a trim horn accent, providing a contrasting color palette to the jet-black vulcanite stem. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in an auburn smooth finish, highlighting tendrils of flame grain that encircle the bowl.
