American Estates: J.M. Boswell Jumbo Smooth Bent Brandy (2021) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-20769

J.M. Boswell is one of the United States' most dedicated pipe carvers, having begun his career in 1975 as an apprentice, before starting his own brand in 1980. Boswell additionally became an importer of briar, allowing him to not only supply stummels to the U.S. market, but acquire high-quality burl for his own work. J.M. works alongside his son Dan in the family's tobacco shop in Chambersburg, PA, where the two carve pipes by hand, their style running the gamut from subdued, Anglo-French classics, to strikingly large works of neoclassicism that draw on the Italian style. This imposing bent Brandy by J.M. Boswell is a voluptuous rendition of the classic shape, featuring an especially plump heel and curvaceous walls at the fore of thick round shank and swirled acrylic stem. Dressed in a rich, warmly-stained finish, the stummel boasts streaks of fine flame grain touched with birdseye around the bowl.
