American Estates: Steve Liskey Smooth Acorn Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-39154

Mentored by Jeff Gracik of J. Alan Pipes, and Todd Johnson, Steve Liskey boasts a style that is strongly influenced by classic Danish forms and the naturalism found within Japanese pipe-making. This particular Acorn is more subdued than some of the other pieces we've seen for Liskey, but it retains the sleek line work and sophisticated shaping for which he is known. This piece boasts a plump, full-bodied bowl that stands at the fore of an upturned shank and a demurely curved saddle stem. The bowl flares from its lifted heel to its broad rim, and as it does, it takes on a subtle forward cant that keeps the shape looking active in profile. The shank and stem's subtle curvature adds further dynamism to the form and supports a comfortable smoking posture. An auburn smooth finish completes the ensemble and highlights healthy grain throughout the stummel.
