American Estates: J. Alan Smooth Tomato with Ivorite (1976) (2023) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-20852
Inspired by Danish, Japanese, and American artisans, J. Alan's pipes are both well-structured and beautifully designed. Many of his pipes are sought after for their detailed shaping, impressive grain, or impressive smoking properties. This particular Tomato from J. Alan displays Danish characteristics, with a sweeping profile stretching from bowl to button. Up front, the bowl is squat and forward urging due to the position of the rim. Nestled within the bowl is a compact tobacco chamber, making this pipe an ideal option for short and satisfying smoking sessions. Soft cheeking around the transition gives way to a flared shank adorned with an accent of ivorite as its base. Protruding from the shank face, a stylized vulcanite stem completes the aft's bend toward the bit, its inky pigment juxtaposing the pearly accent and complementing the walnut-stained stummel. Said stummel is finished smooth to showcase incredible grain throughout.
