A nearly vertical Cherrywood from BriarWorks' now discontinued Neptune line, this piece reminds me of an Oom Paul due to its vertical orientation, yet stands literally and metaphorically on its own due to a broad, flat heel: additionally supporting the bowl's playful forward curve. Presented in the Light sandblast, the stummel offers a wealth of rugged texture. The forward curvature ensures a comfortable feel in hand, naturally bringing the finger pads to rest on the stimulating finish and providing multiple locations for a thumb to rest.
