American Estates: Steve Liskey Sandblasted Dublin with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe

Mentored by Jeff Gracik of J. Alan Pipes, and Todd Johnson, Steve Liskey's style is strongly influenced by classic Danish forms and the naturalism found within Japanese pipe making. This bent Dublin design offers a playful fusion of streamlined shaping about the bowl, a light-depth sandblasted texture, warm, honey-blonde knuckles on the naturally spotted bamboo, and a succinct, saddle stem. For added measure, Steve lent the shank's knuckles a bejeweled look via an epoxy treatment. The softly inflated rim has been left smooth, stained a warm walnut tone that pairs nicely with the rest of the bowl's chocolate hue and the spotted dots along the bamboo.
