American Estates: Charles Patrick Cooke Smooth Bent Billiard (1976) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-21310
A pipe maker from Southern California, Charles Patrick Cooke was Born in England and was known for his array of specially crafted sitters, though he passed away before garnering appreciable notoriety for his work. This bent Billiard is a striking pipe with a robust, full-bodied bowl whose thick, hearty walls rise out of a rounded heel and surround a capacious chamber. Out back, a wide transition gives way to a lifting shank in an ovoid configuration, extending upward to meet a stylized saddle stem of black vulcanite that promises comfortable smoking thanks to its smart downturn. Dressed in a warm, rich stain, there's plenty of handsome grain to appreciate here, with flame surrounding the bowl in dense streaks.
