American Estates: Edward's Spot Carved Acorn Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-21334
Originally a French marque, Edward's pipes have been an American staple since the late 60s or early 70s when they moved to the U.S., offering quality briar pipes at fair prices. The Acorn is an extremely uncommon offering from Edward's, and this particular piece stands out for its striking construction, centering much of its visual emphasis on the bowl. Said bowl stands on a deeply plunging heel spur, its sharp point acting as the visual start of the bowl's bold flare out to a broad, flat rim. A wide, mid-set transition out back gives way to a lifting shank that flares out dramatically toward its end, the face showcasing an asymmetrical look with a broad hollow carving in the middle to accept a stylized saddle stem of vibrant yellow acrylic. Dressed mostly in a warm, smooth finish that reveals handsome grain throughout, the stummel is also treated with a craggy spot carving for added texture.
