American Estates: Chheda Smooth Bent Dublin (089) (8) (2009) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-21479
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Premal Chheda is one of the most well-respected American artisans, possessing an extensive portfolio of, primarily, classically-inspired shapes. Furthermore, Chheda has also taught many now-famous pipe-makers the craft firsthand, resulting in an incredibly influential legacy. This bent Dublin is a fluid and demurely curved take on the classic shape, presenting with a wide transition and a subtly ovoid shank. This shank lifts and flares, expanding to meet a demurely curved saddle stem of black vulcanite, its base shaped to understatedly continue the shank's flare. Up front, the bowl stands on a sweeping heel, growing thick walls that flare out to a broad, reservedly asymmetrical rim sloped nicely into the chamber for easy loading of tobacco. Dressed in a warm, rich stain, the stummel showcases plenty of handsome grain, with flame surrounding the bowl and birdseye across the rim.
