American Estates: Weber Virgin Standard Smooth Lovat Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-21547
Originally from Germany, Carl B. Weber immigrated to America in 1911, later founding what would be known as Weber Pipe Co. in 1938; he would also go on to author Weber's Guide to Pipes & Pipe Smoking. The company would become a prominent figure in American pipe making, serving as an important supplier for many New York pipe shops. This Lovat from Weber is a classically-inclined rendition of the shape with a touch of muscularity throughout its build. Standing upfront is a tall Billiard bowl, with sturdy walls rising straight from heel to rim. Out back, a thick, round shank reaches far from the bowl to meet an abbreviated saddle stem, the arrangement completing the iconic profile. Dressed in a warm, auburn stain, the stummel features handsome grain throughout.
