This paneled Dublin from the Frank pipe company is a balanced and lightweight piece, presenting a cohesive look that appears slightly thicker than it really is. The transition is wide, and it gives way to a subtly tapering shank and stem combination, the stem itself rendered from jet-black vulcanite. Up front, the bowl stands on a round heel and cants forward very subtly, its walls taking on a measured flare to the chamfered rim. The walls are surrounded by a sextet of panels that offer plenty of firmness in hand, and they frame all the handsome grain revealed by the stummel's warm, chestnut-toned stain.
