Founded by Trever Talbert in 1998 after winning the inaugural Pipes & Tobaccos Magazine carving contest, Ligne Bretagne pipes offers high quality, hand-finished pieces made from old-stock French stummels. This Tomato is a lovely example of Talbert's work, with a wide transition that sees the shank taper toward the stem, the stem's taper being a bit more pronounced and placing more of the visual weight onto the bowl. Said bowl is charmingly rotund and showcases supple curves throughout its build that offer both a comfortable feel in hand and thick walls that insulate the chamber. This bowl is quite squat as well, with more breadth than height, and it serves as a lovely canvas for the warm, rich stain dressing the stummel.
