American Estates: Al Perkowski Creative Custom Craft Smooth Bent Billiard (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Al Perkowski purchased his first pipe in 1970 and quickly fell in love with the hobby, developing an affinity not just for the recreation but also the craft of pipe making itself. After a lot of experimentation and guidance from the late Manny Khoubesser, owner of Malaga Pipes, Perkowski founded Creative Briar Pipes and began selling pipes. Perkowski fashions a wide range of shapes, from Anglo-French classics to more bold, expressive designs, with this bent Billiard being one of his more conservative offerings. Up front, a stocky bowl stands atop a wide heel and grows thick walls that taper gradually to a taut rim that oversees a capacious tobacco chamber. A low-set transition follows the bowl and marks the start of a long, brawny shank that sweeps outward and flares gradually to a stylish black and white accent. From there, a trim saddle stem punctuates the composition, its demure downturn promoting a comfortable smoking posture. Dressing this piece is an auburn smooth finish that highlights healthy flame grain across the bowl's flanks.
