American Estates: Dave Neeb Smooth Devil Anse Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-21987

Dave Neeb spent much of his life as a maritime lawyer, smoking a pipe for nearly as long as he practiced law. After he retired, Neeb began to sell pipes on the internet, though before long he started to restore them and a little later he began to hand-make his own pieces. As he refined his carving skills, Neeb benefited from teaching at the hands of both Lee von Erck and Rad Davis and now boasts over a decade of experience carving pipes. This Devil Anse is a plump and pert piece, with a stout and supple bowl that draws the eye to the fore. The transition here is wide, and it pairs the bowl to a sleekly tapering shank and stem combination that slenderizes the aft side and pushes the visual weight toward the bowl. Said bowl features ample roundness about its walls as they rise to a mid-set waist before tapering to the rim, all while maintaining a dynamic forward cant. The stummel is dressed in a rich, warm stain and a slightly matte smooth finish, revealing handsome grain throughout while the cumberland stem provides a lovely complement.
