A stout, Bullmoose-like take on the Rhodesian, this piece from Lone Star Briar Works is a robust one, complete with a substantial thickness present throughout its outline. The transition is wide, but muscular, and it gives way to a hearty shank that lifts and tapers subtly to meet a similarly tapering stem of amber-toned acrylic. Said stem takes on a smart downturn at the bit and poises this piece for comfortable smoking, the combination of shank and stem nicely balancing the bowl. A pronounced heel supports the bowl's walls as they flare out to a high-set waist marked by a crisp beadline, which additionally denotes their swift taper to the rim. Dressed in a warm, light stain, the stummel displays handsome grain throughout.
