American Estates: Rad Davis Partially Sandblasted Rhodesian (2009) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-22289
Rad Davis' love of pipes stemmed from his friend and fellow fly fisherman, Mark Tinsky. Tinsky helped train Davis into the incredible artisan he is today, often seen producing pipes that range from shape-chart standards to organic, Danish-style offerings, with this Rhodesian showcasing features of the latter. The squat, plateau-crowned bowl sits at the fore of a pencil-thin shank-and-stem arrangement, its walls flaring toward a singular ridgeline before tapering inward to the rim. The aforementioned shank takes up the majority of the aft's visual weight before connecting to a cumberland stem that tapers to the bit. The hues of the mouthpiece pair well with the smooth upper half of the bowl, both juxtaposed by the craggy sandblast dressing the remainder of the stummel.
