American Estates: Bob Hayes Partially Rusticated Bulldog Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-22349
A strikingly robust Bulldog is presented here from Bob Hayes, displaying a palpable thickness throughout every aspect of its construction. The bowl is perhaps most impressive, being squat and rotund, with nearly as much breadth as height about its firm build, the walls flaring to a high-set waist marked by a pair of beadlines that additionally denote a taper to the rim. The shank and stem are hearty, diamond shaped, and quite firm of line, stretching out muscularly to a saddle bit and lending the aft a touch of sleekness. Dressed in a dark, craggy, chestnut-hued rustication, this piece boasts a smooth, lightly stained rim, which adds plenty of contrast to the composition.
