American Estates: Michael Lindner Sandblasted Bent Dublin (E) (2004) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-22306

Detroit native Michael Lindner was one of the first American artisans to implement the conventions of Danish style into his work. While many of his pieces are rather hearty and muscular, this bent Dublin is a compact, lightweight interpretation of the classic shape. The flaring bowl sits with a dramatic forward cant, emphasized by some extra substance along the fore wall. Subtle cheeking along the transition gives way to an ovoid shank that tapers as it meets the mouthpiece. Said mouthpiece is demurely-bent and made of cumberland, its reddish hues matching well with the stummel's auburn-stained sandblast.
