American Estates: Walt Cannoy Smooth Freehand (C4) (021402) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-22310
Most known for his Cardinal House line of pipes, American artisan Walt Cannoy has a wide portfolio, ranging from Anglo-French standards to eccentric Freehands. This particular Freehand marries elements of a Dublin and Horn with impressive line work and elegant curvature, creating a piece that would diversify any collection. Up front, the flanks of the bowl are wrapped in sweeping ridgelines that extend from the transition to the rim, informing the bowl's cinched silhouette. A lengthy stylized stem takes up the majority of the aft's visual weight, gradually bending toward the bit. The walnut-stained stummel is finished smooth to highlight impressive cross grain and dense patches of birdseye throughout.
