American Estates: Ryan Alden Sandblasted Sphinx (Ace of Spades) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-009-22328

Originally created by Bo Nordh, the Sphinx has become common amongst artisan pipe makers. The shape can easily be identified by a sharp ridgeline that vertically wraps the left and right flanks of the bowl, connecting at a spur-like heel. A supple and compact rendition of the shape, this Sphinx from Ryan Alden measures just five inches long and houses a small tobacco chamber, ideal for those seeking short and satisfying smokes. The walls of the plump bowl rise and expand from the aforementioned heel before tapering back inward to the rim. A tightly-knit transition gives way to an abbreviated shank and tapered stem, the latter cut from an orange-hued vulcanite. The stummel is dressed in a crisp sandblasted finish, highlighting impressive growth rings and providing ample texture to enjoy.
