American Estates: Cardinal House Morton Cavalier (C19) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-22345
Cardinal House pipes are made by Walt Cannoy, a respected artisan whose experience in the craft goes back to the 1990s. Each of Cannoy's pipes are completely hand made and hand finished, and the Cardinal House line was specifically created to offer all of these features in a series that included artful shaping at a reasonable price. This Cavalier is a striking pipe from Cannoy, presenting with an impressive length of nearly nine inches and showcasing an overtly organic construction. The shank is sleek and lithe, pushing out from a wide transition and extending forward past the bowl, where its extreme fore flares into a forked, branch-like structure that allows for stable sitting thanks to a partially flattened end. In addition, the foot is a removable cap, making this composition a true Cavalier that can be drained to remove excess moisture. The bowl sits at the top of the pipe, a plump, pert, bulb of briar whose shaping further reinforces the organicism of the shank and offers plenty of room to showcase the stummel's dark rustication: the smooth rim and vibrant green brindle of the stem's tapering vulcanite offering some nice contrast.
