American Estates: Micah Redmond Sandblasted Bent Egg Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-22552
Displaying the graceful flow of line, supple curves and rather chubby proportions that dominate much of his artisan work, this bent Egg from Micah Redmond presents an easy, comfortable demeanor and an impressive chamber depth. The American carver, who also crafts pieces for BriarWorks in Tennessee, continues to please with his compact, muscular renditions. Measuring fewer than five inches in total length, this Apple-like piece fits in well with the American/Danish design aesthetic, the gently forward-ebbing bowl presenting softly rounded contours, a lifting heel, and pronounced taper to the rim. Out back, the gradually rising shank continues the bowl's charming stoutness and is topped by one of the artisan's hand-cut, abbreviated saddle stems of vulcanite. Sourced from high-quality briar and engineered with precision, this pipe also boasts a well-defined, earthy sandblast, showcasing stunning arrays of tightly stacked growth rings that begin at the heel and ascend to the rim, while a trim band of briar at the shank end lends a complementing accent.
