American Estates: Yeti Sandblasted Tomato with Bakelite (615) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-22623
Micah "Yeti" Cryder, a carver residing in Montana, produces works characterized by organic shaping that evokes a sense of fluid motion. His creations reflect an aesthetic influenced by the traditional Danish school of pipe making. Showcasing Yeti's fondness for compact pipes, this Tomato measures under five inches, yet still retains the plump proportions expected from a classic Tomato. Just from looking at the profile, the cheeking along the transition was an expert choice, as this Danish-inspired design cue pushes the bowl to more visual prominence and accentuates its curvature while creating the perfect introduction for the fluid bend of the shank and stem. The shank flares as it meets the thick base of the Bakelite saddle stem, continuing the fore's compact muscularity for an overall balanced profile, with the bowl matching the robust proportions of the shank. The stummel wears a concise sandblast, showcasing stacked growth rings rippling along both flanks of the bowl. Topped with an auburn stain, golden accent, and a striking red stem, this handsome piece displays a warm, welcoming color palette.
