American Estates: Elliott Nachwalter (Pipeworks) Smooth Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-009-22590
Known for his collaboration with Jorg Jemelka in the Briar Workshop, Elliott Nachwalter is an American carver who crafts particularly hearty designs, though this Dublin is a significantly more sleek and svelte profile. A wide transition here gives way to an understated, ovoid shank whose compressed outline tapers easily through to the base of the stem: its black vulcanite saddle enhancing the gracile look of the piece. Up front, the bowl stands atop a rounded heel and cants forward with a lively charm, its walls flaring out gently to a softly chamfered rim while offering plenty of comfort in the hand. Dressed in a warm, rich chestnut stain, the stummel here showcases plenty of handsome grain, with flame surrounding the circumference of the bowl.
