A large and particularly dramatic Vase from AKB Meerschaum, this is a substantial piece in hand, with gourd-like striations running vertically up the bowl providing a sense of paneling, with two sections on each side left in pale white in its under-structure for vivid contrast to the natural looking patina of the stummel. A long shank leads to a saddle mouthpiece of variegated golds and ambers, while the bowl reveals complex carving patterns around the rim for endless visual fascination.
