AKB Meerschaum: Carved Grim Reaper (Kenan) (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

Ah yes, the embodiment of death, the pale specter of mortality borne aloft on black wings, its sweeping scythe cutting away swaths of souls from the blighted earth. Here this primeval force is a pipe. Certainly a less grim interpretation of the Reaper, this meerschaum piece from AKB presents with a recognizably skeletal face shrouded by a cloak, though, in this case, the cloak maintains the pallor of the bony cranium. Said cloak is carved with excellent attention to detail, its folds and ripples realized quite well, and the skull beneath it grins with a full set of teeth, its sockets barren and imposing. The stem here is paired to a sharply upturned shank, poising its lithe bend for comfortable smoking, the stummel ripe for future patination.
