A rather heavy, hearty, figural meerschaum, this piece from AKB depicts an ornately carved skull, his sunken eyes, nicely trimmed beard and other characteristics rendered with much attention to detail. He's seen here donning a night cap, closely resembling Santa's hat. Forsooth, it can't be! Is the jolly old elf delivering gifts in the afterlife? The stummel is dressed in a golden-brown color to emulate the warm tones of patina, which will accrue on this flavor-neutral pipe, adding further charm.
