While the degree of bend may differ with each example, the unifying factor is the form's dynamic, forward-urging profile — one realized by a subtly convex fore and a well-defined ridge that wraps around the jutting rim. That form has been expertly rendered here by AKB, with a mostly smooth stummel, save for a spot carving on either flank of the bowl, that is primed to darken beautifully the more this pipe is smoked.
