AKB Meerschaum: Rusticated Freehand (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

This Freehand from AKB Meerschaum is one that thrives through its curves, clean lines, and sharp angles. Both the shank end and the rim feature a pointed outline that sees either point opposing each other over the transition and facing in opposite directions, with additional points at the fore of the rim and aft of the shank guiding the lines of the transitions negative space from an aerial perspective. Beneath the bowl, the plunging curve of the shank terminates in a sharp heel before the fore wall pulls back a bit, giving it an S-curve shape that flares out near the top. Paired to a demurely curved black stem, this piece is a striking example of the work done by AKB's artisans, and the textural rustication of the stummel ensures an intriguing pattern of patina as this piece is smoked.
