AKB Meerschaum: Rusticated Bent Pot (Tekin) (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

Low-slung and quite nicely rounded, this bent Pot from AKB Meerschaum is quite a bit different than many other examples of the shape from the Turkish workshop. A deeply bent saddle stem of swirling amber hues provides a comfortable smoking posture here, with some added structure thanks to its stylized expansion rings at the base, its pairing to a rather sharply upturned shank keeping the look somewhat acrobatic. Said shank transitions tightly, leading to a bowl that is appropriately squat, as a Pot should be, and handsomely forward canting, adding some dynamism to the composition, with its low waist made firm, reminding me of a Volcano due to the sweeping underside. Dressing the porous, pale mineral here is a craggy rustication that adds plenty of texture in hand and is sure to patinate handsomely.
