Though relatively compact, this piece from AKB boasts a capacious chamber and a weighty in-hand presence. A macabre skull is carved into the fore of the bowl and rendered with squid-like tentacles that wrap around the heel. The hearty bowl is matched by the equally robust shank which houses a reverse Calabash chamber, ensuring a cooler, drier smoking experience as the chamber collects excess moisture. With time and use, this piece will accrue the tans, golds, and browns of patina, lending the composition a bespoke character.
