AKB Meerschaum: Carved Floral Bent Billiard Sitter (H. Ege) (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

A sure Sitter thanks to its flattened heel, this bent Billiard from H. Ege of AKB Meerschaum displays a curious build that reminds me of both the bent Dublin and the Oom Paul. The striking degree of bend of course brings to mind the latter of these two, as the sharply upturned shank poises the amber acrylic stem for comfortable smoking and easy clenching. At the bowl is where we see some of the Dublin influence taking hold, with a very gentle flare from the transition to the rim that places more emphasis on the knot work carving that adorns the upper portion of the bowl itself. Beneath this is an array of detailed fronds which wrap around the bowl and shank and easily showcase the carving talent of the Turkish workshop's artisans. With plenty of ornate styling, this pipe is sure to patinate beautifully as it is smoked, sure to better match the hues of the stem as the pale white stummel darkens.
