A Cauldron-like interpretation of the Calabash shape, this piece from Ali of AKB possesses the form's characteristic domed rim, which here hangs over a bowl with a plump heel and slightly cinched waistline. The fore and flanks of the bowl feature carved renderings of skulls, which provide a macabre character to the overall composition. This substantial piece houses a chamber capacity over two inches deep, which should ensure plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions. With time and use, this piece will patinate, taking on warm tans, browns, and golds.
