AKB Meerschaum: Carved Floral Calabash (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

A striking rendition of the Calabash, this piece from AKB boasts the form's typical domed, overhanging rim, which here presides over the bowl's gentle downward taper. The bowl cants at the fore of the composition and adds a touch of dynamism to the pipe in profile, while the shank kicks high and marries a demurely curved stem of amber-hued acrylic, out back. A carved finish dresses the stummel and covers the flanks of the bowl with depictions of flowers, a common motif in meerschaum pipe making.
