A striking, sculpture Freehand from AKB, this piece is an angular design with a flared rim that sharply curves toward the aft side of the composition. From the rim, the bowl descends swiftly into a ridgeline-wrapped base, while the shank-and-stem arrangement strikes a fluid S-curve in back. The pointed, structural lines around the bowl keep the overall form dynamic and lend a strong sense of geometry to the shape in profile. With time and use, the stummel will patinate, taking on tans, browns, and golds.
