A handsome yet macabre figural from AKB, this piece depicts a grinning skull shrouded in a billowing hood. The skull's sunken eyes, recessed nose, and toothy green are all precisely articulated and showcase the fine details that can be rendered out of meerschaum. Lightweight and slender of build, this piece balances its reaper caricature at the fore of an upturned shank and a demurely curved stem of amber-hued acrylic. With time and use, the stummel will patinate, taking on tans, golds, and browns.
