AKB Meerschaum: Spot Carved Calabash Tobacco Pipe

It's not very often that we receive straight renditions of the Calabash shape from any maker, let alone Turkish workshop AKB Meerschaum, making this quite the unique entry in their body of work. The bowl is quite strikingly low-slung and squat, with just a little bit of height whose presence is punctuated by the form's iconic mushroom cap construction. Said cap pushes out in a comparatively dramatic flare and has been carved with lattice-type stippling that sets it apart from the smooth shank and lower bowl. A stylish amber stem stretches the length of this pipe out a bit, and its contrasting hues will come to better match the stummel as it patinates with time and smoking.
